Summer School Lessons Focus on Spiral Snakes

Elementary students in the West Babylon School District’s summer school program enjoyed a hands-on library lesson all about snakes with librarian Ms. Ingrid.
During the lesson, students explored interesting facts about snakes, learning about their habitats, characteristics and the important roles they play in ecosystems. Through engaging discussion and age-appropriate reading, students expanded their knowledge of the reptiles.
Following the lesson, students created colorful spiral snakes, combining creativity with skill building. As they carefully colored, cut and assembled their projects, students strengthened their fine motor skills and scissor control.
