Tradition Continues at Blue and Gold

More than 60 years of tradition came to life as West Babylon Senior High School hosted its annual Blue and Gold competition from April 16–18, drawing packed crowds and showcasing outstanding student talent and school spirit.
This year’s spirited rivalry featured the Blue Team’s “Night at the Museum” theme competing against the Gold Team’s “Hollywood Walk of Fame,” transforming the school’s gymnasium into an immersive display of creativity and performance. The stands were filled with a sea of blue and gold as families, friends and community members came out in full force to support their teams.
Students demonstrated remarkable dedication and artistry throughout the event. Members of the props team designed and constructed elaborate sets that brought each theme to life, while performers delivered high-energy routines that highlighted months of preparation. From intricate choreography to synchronized calisthenics, students showcased their talents through lyrical, hip-hop and marching performances, captivating audiences during each segment of the show.
All three performances were sold out, underscoring the event’s lasting significance within the school community. Beyond the excitement and competition, Blue and Gold continues to make a meaningful impact by awarding more than $10,000 in scholarships to students each year. The annual event remains a cornerstone tradition, celebrating student creativity, teamwork and pride while bringing the entire school community together.
