Students Build Connections Through Fun Friday Friends

Students in Mrs. McNeely and Ms. Castelli’s classes at John F. Kennedy Elementary School are strengthening friendships and social-emotional skills through a new initiative called “Fun Friday Friends.”
Each Friday, the two classes come together to participate in activities focused on building friendships, encouraging teamwork and fostering positive social interactions. Through a mix of social-emotional learning activities, academics, crafts and games, students are given meaningful opportunities to connect with peers, meet new friends and develop important communication skills.
So far, students have participated in activities such as “Two Truths and a Lie,” where they shared fun facts about themselves, sparked conversations and enjoyed plenty of laughter together. Students also took part in an energetic game of kickball that emphasized teamwork, encouragement and supporting one another.
The program provides students with a welcoming and inclusive environment where they can build confidence, strengthen relationships and create lasting connections while having fun alongside their classmates.
