Students Shine at Digital Generation Social Media Competition

On Jan. 15, students in Ms. Kilgus’ social media class from West Babylon Senior High School showcased their creativity, innovation and presentation skills while competing in the Digital Generation Social Media Competition against teams from other schools. The event challenged students to develop and present original digital concepts, highlighting their ability to think critically and creatively in a real-world setting.
Madelyn Synder and Caroline Nash, along with their team, earned first place for their outstanding design and innovative app concept, “The Pocket Watch.” Their winning presentation impressed judges with its originality, functionality and thoughtful approach to digital engagement.
As a result of their top finish, the team will travel to Google Headquarters in New York City for an all-access tour — an exciting and well-deserved opportunity to explore one of the world’s leading technology companies.
In addition, Sophia Merolla and Savannah Pavlicko were recognized with runner-up honors for their impressive presentation and strong performance throughout the competition. The district congratulates all participating students for their hard work, dedication and professionalism. Their success reflects both their individual talents and their commitment to excellence while representing the school with pride.
