Third graders at John F. Kennedy Elementary School completed their culture projects in January. Students were tasked with researching their family history, interviewing relatives and collecting facts about their families. They learned of the places their family members came from prior to creating a poster depicting their culture and heritage. Students learned about holidays, traditions in different countries and even family recipes passed down through the generations. After completing their posters, each shared their family history with their classmates to know more about other’s cultural traditions.
