Under the direction of business teachers Colleen Kilgus and Katie Reilly, West Babylon Senior High School business students enrolled in the digital generation course presented their final projects at Stony Brook University on Jan. 10. The competition brings students from different school districts on Long Island together to work collaboratively on a presentation about the impact of the internet and social media.

West Babylon senior Lauren Johnston was a member of the third place team with the topic “Social Activism.” Junior Jordan Jackson earned an honorable mention along with her team on the topic “Restaurants and Culinary.”

Digital generation is a blended learning course that helps students utilize the power of the internet and social media to enhance web presence, digital profile and personal branding. The class explores how social media affects society, the economy, privacy, misinformation, relationships and entrepreneurship.
