The district has appointed Laurie Mitchell as director of guidance K-12 effective Feb. 1. She replaced Gina Curcio.

Ms. Mitchell previously served as director of guidance K-12 in the Lynbrook Public School District since 2019. Prior to that, she was the guidance chairperson for grades 6-12 and a school counselor in the Lynbrook Public School District since 1999.
Ms. Mitchell holds both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in business administration from Dowling College. In addition, she has a master’s degree in school counseling from LIU Post. She also holds certifications in school administrator/supervisor and school district administrator.
