The junior high school Science Olympiad team, coached by Linda Kronenbitter, participated in the regional competition on March 2 and placed eighth out of 33 teams.
A second-place medal was won by seventh graders Brody and Tommy Eglin for Fossils. Brody and Tommy also took home a second-place medal for Microbe Mission. Seventh grader Michael Arzoumanidis earned a fifth-place medal for Air Trajectory.
Eighth graders Jack O’Dougherty and Tommy Donovan took home a seventh-place medal for Write It/Do It, and sixth graders Lucas Cuglietto and Sebastian Sherbin earned an eighth-place medal for their tower.
Other top 10 places were earned by Natalie Barahona and Kristen Skibiel for Metric Mastery; Nick Cardenas for Mission Possible; and Chris Hurst and Austin Nettuno for Reach for the Stars. Other team members include: Aariz Chaudry, James Ford, Thomas Mulligan and Jack Huggins.
