West Babylon School District has named Alison Somma as assistant principal of West Babylon Junior High School, effective Aug. 12.

Ms. Somma comes to West Babylon from Great Neck Public Schools, where she worked as a Spanish and ENL teacher at Great Neck North High School since 2014. She also served as the Student Organization advisor and No Place for Hate facilitator for the district.

Ms. Somma holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in adolescent education/Spanish from SUNY Cortland. She also holds a master’s degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Molloy University. Additionally, she has her certification in building leader.
