Welcome to the West Babylon Senior high School. West Babylon High School is a comprehensive high school that offers a diverse academic program while promoting the arts, business and technology, and family and consumer sciences. Our students are being made college and career ready in order to succeed in the 21st century workplace and the world. Our Social, Emotional and Academic Learning program, entering its sixth year, parallels  the Dignity for All Students Act, and is the foundation for creating a safe learning environment in which our students can learn and develop the emotional competencies that lead to success in the 21st century world for which they are being prepared.

Our co curricular activities, including our athletic teams, mirror this focus. and add to the total development of our students.  Groups such as our GSA and LEO clubs lead the school in activities that teach acceptance, compassion, empathy and service to others.  Our students develop their leadership skills in the classroom, in their clubs and organizations and on the athletic fields.  They are ready when they leave the high school to assume these roles and successfully further their studies and work.

Hosted by West Babylon School District’s Superintendent of Schools Dr. Yiendhy Farrelly and joined by district administrators, students were invited to celebrate their achievements in the board of education room. The students were asked to choose a staff member who has greatly impacted their educational career to join them as their guest for the brunch.

Dr. Farrelly shared her pride in the many accomplishments of the Class of 2024 and the attendees, noting their achievements not just in the classroom but on the sports fields, as musicians, artists, performing community service and more. “I don’t know how to do it all,” she said. “You are truly all the whole package. Keep that drive and continue to put in that effort as you move forward in life.”

Dr. Farrelly called each student up to be recognized individually and presented him or her with a gift. The student then invited their honored guest to be acknowledged as well. The top 25 gathered for one last group photo together before their upcoming graduation.

West Babylon Senior High School showed off the many talents of its student-artists during the school’s annual art show on June 5. The walls and hallways were filled with the many one-of-a-kind pieces developed by the artists this school year. Guests were able to view the creations which included ceramics, watercolors, cartoons, portraits and more from the different levels of classes offered at the high school. The Peace Crane Project was also on display. The project invites students to fold an origami crane, write a message of peace on its wings, then exchange it with another student somewhere in the world.
